Making Therapy Accessible & Less Overwhelming

Have you considered therapy to address the impact of trauma but found it difficult to follow through? You're not alone—many trauma survivors face barriers like fear, anxiety, and discomfort in new environments. As a trauma specialist, I understand these challenges and am passionate about providing accessible, trauma-informed care. That's why I focus on teletherapy, which offers flexibility, privacy, and convenience, empowering you to begin your healing journey with fewer obstacles. Teletherapy allows you to take control of your environment, making therapy feel less overwhelming and helping you take the first step toward recovery.

The Process

  • Ready to take the first step toward healing? Schedule a free, confidential consultation call to discuss your needs and explore how therapy can support your journey. During this call, we'll get to know each other, address any questions you may have, and determine how we can best work together to help you achieve your goals. Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, or having difficulty coping with significant life challenges or transitions, I’m here to offer guidance and support.

  • Finding the right therapist is a crucial step in your healing journey. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is key to successful outcomes, and that's why I prioritize the "goodness of fit." During your initial consultation, we’ll explore your needs, preferences, and goals to ensure that my approach aligns with what works best for you. This collaborative process allows us to create a personalized path to healing that feels comfortable, safe, and supportive. Your well-being and positive experience during your therapy journey are my top priorities. If at any point you feel that another approach or therapist might be a better fit, I’ll happily guide you toward the resources and alternative supports that best suit your needs.

  • Once we have completed the consultation call and determined we would be a good fit to start our therapeutic work together, we will schedule the initial intake session (60 minutes). Afterward, clients are encouraged to commit to weekly individual therapy sessions (50 minutes) at the beginning of treatment as this promotes effectiveness in your therapy and ensures quality of care. Decreasing the frequency of sessions over time will be collaboratively explored based on your overall progress and meeting established treatment goals.

Services & Pricing

Individual Intake Session

(60 Minutes)- $225

An individual intake session for psychotherapy is the first formal meeting between a therapist and a new client. This session is designed to gather important information about the client’s background, current presenting concerns, and treatment goals. It serves as a foundation for developing an effective treatment plan and establishing rapport between the therapist and client. The intake session is an essential step in psychotherapy, helping to ensure that therapy treatment is tailored to the client’s needs.

Individual Psychotherapy Session

(50 Minutes)- $185

An individual psychotherapy session is a private, one-on-one meeting between a therapist and a client, where the client works through emotional, psychological, or behavioral issues. The therapist provides a safe, confidential space for the client to explore thoughts, feelings, and patterns of behavior while working toward personal growth and established mental health goals.

The Benefits of Investing in Private Pay Therapy

While psychotherapy requires a financial commitment, the potential benefits for improved mental health, personal growth, and overall well-being can be profound, often making it a valuable and worthwhile investment.

Carolina Trauma Recovery has chosen to remain a private pay outpatient clinic in order to provide the highest standard of care to clients. There are many benefits of psychotherapy being private pay including:

  1. Enhanced privacy and confidentiality.

  2. Freedom to choose a therapist based on compatibility, expertise, and personal preferences.

  3. Flexible, stigma-free therapy without the need for a formal diagnosis.

  4. Autonomy over personalized treatment plans with no time limits.

  5. Access to specialized, high-quality care without long wait times.

Filing for Out-of-Network Reimbursement

Most clients can file claims on an "out-of-network" basis. The process is fairly simple and often clients can receive significant reimbursement as a result. However, it is highly recommended that you speak with your insurance provider prior to scheduling an appointment to learn about the specific benefits and requirements of your plan.

Should you choose to file “out-of-network” claims, you will be provided with the necessary documentation in the form of a “superbill” to submit to your insurance company after every session. Additionally, I recommend using https://reimbursify.com to file claims as it makes the process very easy and convenient with a minimal fee.

Questions to Ask Your Insurance Company:

  • Does my plan include "out-of-network" coverage for mental health? If so, what is the percentage or amount per session that is covered?

  • Is there an annual deductible for “out-of-network” mental health benefits that I need to meet before I may be able to use my “out-of-network coverage?” If so, what is the annual deductible amount and how much do I have left to pay before I am able to use my “out-of-network “coverage benefits?

  • Is there a limit to how many sessions or expense amount my plan will cover per year?
